The chicken pot pie has a long history where it was originated in Greece where they cooked chicken and placed them in open pastry shells that were called “Artocreas” and the Romans added the top crust transforming the chicken pot pie into an actual pie

Britons revived the ancient customer of meat pies, in the 16th century where pot pies were decorated exclusively with fancy designs and heraldic devices and were usually affirmations of the culinary skills of the chef in royal households in France and England

The pot pies emerged in 1877 and from there on the love for chicken pies spread all over the world.

The settlers who came to America took their pot pie recipes with them when they moved to the west and at present chicken pot pies have become a well-loved cuisine by many.
