Eggs are one of the most versatile items on any menu, be it at home or even at a restaurant. Simple cooking techniques can be a game changer giving you variety and an adequate amount of protein for your diet. Here are some ways this basic item can be spruced into a mouthwatering delight;

Scrambled

Eggs are broken into the pan and scrambled while it sets on a low fire. This dish can be spruced up by adding cottage cheese before pouring it into the pan (which makes them fluffy!). Alternatively, cheese and other ingredients such as bell pepper can be added into the pan to make it more flavourful.

Sunny Side-up

A classic that requires a great deal of skill; the sunny-side up, when done right, is a perfect breakfast fix. The key here is to ensure that the egg yolk remain soft and not too runny. Finish it up with a pinch of salt and pepper and you’re good to go!

Poached

A slightly more technical method, poaching when done right is a burst of delight in your mouth. The result should consist of a well cooked white with a warm and runny yolk. There are two methods; the whirlpool and the strainer in which both techniques require vinegar to form the perfect poached egg.

Boiled

While the boiled egg can be made and eaten with salad or even as a snack, soft boiled eggs are slightly different with its runny yolk and softer texture. Both types are great for having a quick bite as they can be eaten soon after preparation.
